Oliver Turvey was quizzed about life as McLaren’s F1 test driver and revealed how he plans to become a future F1 world champion when he joined an event hosted by TV star Tiff Needell at Silverstone last weekend.

Turvey, who arrived fresh from working on the McLaren F1 simulator, joined former racer Needell in the Drivers Lounge for a Silverstone PR event and offered his typical intelligent and informed comments on the sport, his job, and his hopes for the future.

“It was fantastic to be invited to talk at the Drivers Lounge at the British Grand Prix,” said Turvey. “I really enjoyed the opportunity to speak about my role at McLaren and my ambitions to become an F1 world champion.

“It was good catching up with Tiff and it was a great event. I think the crowd enjoyed getting the inside line on F1 from me and I did an autograph session afterwards too, so it was nice to get to chat to some of the guests personally and hopefully I was able to pick up a few more fans!”
